    My HP printer keeps making me save files instead of printing. I have the pdf file in my laptop and just want to print but it just doesn't, just today. Also, I checked the settings and they seem fine, they're the same as when I used to print without an issue. Please help me.

    Prints to File instead of to printer

    I've tried printing from a number of different apps....Aol mail, Microsoft excel viewer, test print from control panel, test sheet from HP support. they all default to a dialogue box asking "save print output as" and it wants to save the print as a .prn
    file which I can't find an app to try to send that to the printer which is just a basic HP envy 4520 which worked fine before Windows 10 update.

    I do think the port option on printer properties is throwing any print job to the "file" option vs. to the printer itself.

    Prints to File instead of to printer

    Is there a "WSD Port" option in your printer properties? Check that instead of Save to File and try printing again.

    Hi, my pc is a HP desktop 14AC100NA new at Christmas 2015, and my printer is Deskjet 1510 bought earlier this year. the printer is ticked as default, my problem is when i click to print it doesnt print but instead saves what ever i want to print to the documents
    folder instead, then i am able to print it from there. i have uninstalled the printer driver and reinstalled but still the same, the last time i used printer was about 3 wks ago when it was printing normal, all inks are full and have run printer diagnostics
    that say printer running normal. any ideas.
