    my hp windows 10 laptop will not allow me to update Minecraft


    as stated, I have a hp windows 10 laptop that just won't let me update Minecraft 1.18 specifically. my laptop has always been slow and taken forever to do anything, but especially anything to do with the app store. I have been trying to update it since yesterday night, and it just says pending, with the circling dots. I have been making sure to close any apps that need updated, and plan on updating them after Minecraft is updated. I am hotspoting my phone to the laptop because we don't have wifi, but this has never been an issue before. if anybody could help me it would mean alot! thanks!

    Windows 10 fully updated. Mouse freezes now and then.

    It may or may not be related but disabling Windows Update sure is a mistake. Note yesterday's major global ransomware attack, as well as the Wannacry attack in May did NOT affect anyone who allowed Windows Update to keep Windows current.

    And to that, except for dial up users, Windows downloading updates should not affect anything you are doing as it steps way into the background. How much RAM do you have? What else is running?
    Why? Minecraft Doesn't Need Java Installed Anymore; It's Time to Uninstall Java.

    If me, I would uninstall ESET and run with Windows Defender and see what happens. If no change, you can always install ESET back, but frankly, I don't see any reason why.

    Homegroup For Minecraft Servers Or What?

    It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

    There is a complete step by step available, if you have any issues ...

    It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server
