Windows 10: my icons are arranged differently in different monitors, i tried to refresh it but it just...

If those are new shortcuts, it's the way Windows has always worked. New icons go top left of main monitor. As Jay suggested,

just drag and drop to the other monitor.

If you use two monitors all the time the icons should stay as you arrange them, but there are a number of things that mess

up a desktop icon arrangement, eg- switching from one to two monitors. It's worse if the monitors have different resolutions.

saved for both monitors individually, and when running extended dual.

Windows 10 auto-arranges desktop icon after switching to different account

Hi,

I already verified the answer in the other link but it's not applicable in my case. The value in the registry is already windows.stor­age.dll. Note that before the latest update to 10586 this never happened. So this is regression clearly due to 10586 update.
Also the "align icon" check is unchecked all the time. Also note that this happens only when switching to a different account - it doesn't happen when pressing F5 or refreshing the Desktop like it was reported elsewhere. So this is a new issue that needs to
get repro and resolved.

Repro steps:

1. Create two accounts on the same machine

2. Log in into the first account

3. Arrange Desktop icons in certain way

4. Switch to the other account - no need to log in, just make the log in screen of the other account appear

5. log in back to the first account

6. expected: Desktop icons are the same

7. Actual: all icons are auto arranged, snapped to the left grid.

As for update - I went to WU and it doesn't pull any newer update than what I have. How do I force it?

Icons arranging by themselves on the desktop

My icons keep arranging themselves after reboot or desktop refresh (Auto arrange and arange togrid are not checked). Tried clean reboot - issue persists. Tried safe mode - issue persists there too. Tried creating a different user, issue - persists. Tried
system restore to a restore point - issue comes back after restart. Sweeped my whole pc with anti-virus software, nothing changes. At this point I do not know what to do. Any ideas?
