Windows 10: My icons don't place right

Hello,


I do not know what happened but maybe an hour ago My icons weren't placing right as in I can only place a icon in the middle of other icons I have my icons on the left I cant place anything on the right. Its hard explain but I basically can't place my icons.

Cant place icons on certain places on dekstop

We appreciate the information you've provided. We suggest downloading the latest update, KB4020102, to see if that resolves your concern with the icon placement.
To do that, go to Settings > Update & Security
> Check for Updates.

We also recommend changing the desktop icon settings. To access it, follow these steps:

• 
  Click Start.
  
• 
  Type Themes and press Enter.
  
• 
  Click Change desktop icons.
  
• 
  Uncheck Allow themes to change desktop icons.
  
• 
  Click Apply.
  
• 
  Click OK.
  

After installing the latest updates and changing the desktop icon settings, check if you can place icons on the left side of your screen.

Let us know if what happens to your icon placement after following these steps.

 

Can't Place Rcycle Icon on right Start Menu in Windows 10

2. Are you facing this issue in Local account or Microsoft account?

I would suggest you to follow the steps.

• It sounds like you are right clicking on the Start Screen, not the Desktop.
• On the Start Screen, there is a Tile named Desktop. Left click that Tile and this will take you to the Desktop.
• Right click an empty spot on the Desktop and select Personalize in the menu.
• On the left side of the Personalize box, click Change Desktop Icons.
• Place a check mark in the Recycle Bin and click Apply/OK.
• This will place the Recycle Bin icon on your Desktop. Click that icon to open the Recycle Bin.
