Windows 10: My input method doesn't match the displayed one in the settings and randomly changes.

My language setup is a bit specific: I'm using the US language pack but I deleted the QWERTY US keyboard layout to put an AZERTY layout, as shown on the screenshots below. This works well but from times to times Windows randomly switches to a QWERTY layout, but when I check the settings it still says that I'm using my French AZERTY layout... The only way to fix this is to reintstall the US QWERTY layout, uninstall the French one and then reinstall the french one and uninstall the US one... This is quite annoying as it happens quite often and completely randomly.This doesn't happen after I pres

Input Methods on AT&T Tilt

I have tried to change the input method on my AT&T Tilt. All the options are there, ie: Block Recognizer, Keyboard, Letter Recognizer, Symbol Pad, and Transcriber. When I attempt to change from Keyboard to another method with the drop down menu, I tap OK
and then check again and it is back to Keyboard. Also, if I tap on Transcriber and then the Options button, a dialog box opens that says "Can't open the configuration dialog. Transcriber Options are available only when Transcriber
is selected as the active input method". Any ideas or suggestions?

Setting the default input method for the Windows 10 login screen

I had the same question but with French being the default on Windows 10 rather than the one I wanted so I ended up here.

HoD is very close. I was able to use his suggestion to find the solution for me. This solution uses your current display and input language to change the Welcome screen and possible for new user accounts if you want. So make sure you have the display and input settings while logged in that you want to apply to the login screen before doing the steps:

1. Click the language on the Taskbar.
   
2. Then click Language preferences.
   
3. At the bottom under "Related settings," click "additional date, time, & regional settings" which opens the control panel
   
4. Click the "Region" option
   
5. Then go to the far right tab "Administrative". (HoD's step 2)
   
6. In the "Welcome screen and new user accounts" click copy settings. (HoD's step 3)
   
7. Tick "Welcome screen and system accounts" (and "new user accounts" if you want it to be applied to those as well). (HoD's step 4)
   
8. Click Ok. (HoD's step 5)
   

I was able to use HoD's suggestion to find the solution here. It's for Windows 8.1, but works on 10 so far.

Can I have a different default input method from the display language


I just upgraded from Windows 7 and I realized in Windows 10 the input method is bundled with the language. What I want is to display in English but have a default input method of Chinese. But in the language settings they are bundled and when I "move up" the Chinese to the top both the display language and input method are changed. Is it possible to set the default input method and display language separately?
