My input volume goes down automatically. I have to put it higher manual every 15 minutes. I disabled enchanced option and put the "do nothing" thing but the problem persists.

Volume goes to zero and mute.

    Hi William,

If the volume of your computer automatically mutes, it could be that the audio drivers are corrupted or damaged, or that there are software conflicts occurring within the system. As a first troubleshooting step, we suggest that you run the audio troubleshooter
and lets Windows find and automatically resolve problems with your audio. Here's how to run the audio troubleshooter:

    • Select the Start button, then type troubleshoot, and select
Troubleshoot from the list of results. From there, select
      Playing Audio
      > Run the troubleshooter.

If the troubleshooter does not help resolve the problem with your volume settings, we suggest that you check Device Manager and update your sound card drivers. Updating would replace any corrupted or damaged components of the audio driver. Here's how to
update your audio drivers through Device Manager:

    • Open the Start button, then type device manager, and select
Device Manager from the search results.
    • Under Sound, video and game controllers, right-click your sound card driver, then select
      Update Driver.
    • Select Search automatically search for updated driver software.
If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you may look for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions on how to install their driver.

If the above steps doesn't resolve the problem, feel free to post back to us.

  3. Windows 11 Input Device volume automatically lowering every time

    Hi Serhii D.,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

You can use the following methods to try to solve the problem of automatic audio lightening.

    1. Disable "Automatically adjust microphone settings" in communication software: In applications like Zoom, Skype, or Microsoft Teams, you might find an option to "Automatically adjust microphone settings" or a similar feature. Make sure to disable this option in all of your communication software.
    2. Disable "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" and "Give exclusive mode applications priority":
Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Sounds."

    Navigate to the "Recording" tab.

Right-click on your headset microphone and choose "Properties."

In the "Advanced" tab, uncheck both "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" and "Give exclusive mode applications priority."

    Click "Apply" and then "OK."

    1. Disable audio enhancements:
    1. Navigate back to your microphone's "Properties" window.
In the "Enhancements" tab, check "Disable all sound effects" or "Disable all enhancements" (the wording may vary).

    Click "Apply" and then "OK."

    1. Adjust Communications settings in Windows:
    1. Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Sounds."
    Navigate to the "Communications" tab.

Select "Do nothing" under "When Windows detects communications activity."

    Click "Apply" and then "OK."

    1. Adjust your microphone's volume levels in Windows:
Go to Settings > System > Sound.

Under "Input," select your headset microphone.

Adjust the volume slider to your desired level.

Click on "Device properties" and adjust the volume slider under "Levels" as well.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,
