Windows 10: My Intel Smart Sound Technology Microphone array works fine on Zoom until I cast my laptop...

Hi,I have never had a problem casting Zoom to my microsoft display adapter/TV. However suddenly when I put up a Zoom call, the microphone won't work. As soon as I stop casting, the microphone works fine. I have tried "allowing" every possible option. The strange thing is that this worked just fine for months, now suddenly no luck. Microphone not working in zoom

I have a new HP Laptop running Windows 11 with a built in camera and microphone using the driver (Microphone array Intel Smart Sound Technology for Digital Microphones). The microphone works for Cortana and other applications but doesn’t work for zoom. I’ve checked the privacy settings and the setting for zoom is turned on. I’ve gone to the sound setting and clicked on the microphone and I can see the green sound bar move up and down when I speak so I know the microphone is working. I can buy an external microphone and plug it in but would like to have the internal mic working. Anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

Many thanks for this. I have a Dell Inspiron 14 5490 laptop and the internal microphone stopped working recently.

I was on a support call with Dell for 45 minutes yesterday and they decided I needed to send the laptop back for a hardware replacement of the microphone! This fix has saved all the hassle of having to send it back for an unnecessary hardware repair.
