Windows 10: My internet is working fine but my pc continues to say that I have no internet when connected.

So I tried playing games on my pc but my internet is stating that there is no internet and secured, this is happened for a while now and it’s starting to make me mad that I have to keep doing this every single day. My dad tried resetting it and it worked for a while but I woke up and tried to use my pc and it kept on with the same problem.

Windows10 1903 - Internet works but on settings and tray icon says "internet not connected"

I made the following steps on my PC HP Windows 10:

1) I Reinstalled Windows 10 ( I had to do it because my PC was extremely slow);

2) After reinstalling Windows and connecting to internet via wifi (or ethernet similarly) I realized that Microsoft Edge and the Windows Store didn't work (saying no internet connection), but Internet Explorer and Chrome, Skype and other application successfully
were using internet to browse and etc.

3) To fix the Edge problem, I made a network recovery (disable and re-enable network card) through the settings functionality and rebooted;

4) After rebooting the Microsoft Edge and Windows store issues were fixed : everything was working fine with intenet BUT a new issue came up : now, EVEN IF INTERNET WORKS FINE ON MY PC, WINDOWS in Settings/Network says "Internet NOT connected" and even
the tray icon on the windows bar remains as a "globe" indicating no internet connection.

If I try to connect to my wifi connection, it connects and works but says "Internet not available" (and still the "globe" remains in the tray area and NOT CONNECTED in Settings/Network (actually internet keep on working fine on the PC). If I use an Ethernet
Cable it connects and works, but still the "globe" remains in the tray area and NOT CONNECTED in Settings/Network (actually internet keep on working fine on the PC).

My questions is: how can I fix this issue ? Any idea? I realized it's a common problem on Windows 10 and some of you maybe found a solution.

Before I can provide you any assistance, I would like you to answer the question below:

1. Do you that an un-interrupted internet connection?

2. Is your web browser working properly?

I suggest that you perform the steps below and check if the issue persist:

Step 1: Disable Proxy

Sometimes using proxy to connect to the internet may cause issues while connecting to the network.

Follow the steps below to disable proxy:

• Press “Windows Key” + “R”.
• Type “inetcpl.cpl”.
• Go to Connection.
• Click on LAN Settings.
• Check the box which says Automatically detect settings.
• Uncheck the box under Proxy server.

Step 2: Run Internet Troubleshooter.

Though you are able to use internet, there could be some problems or some settings which could have stopped Windows services to connect to the internet.

I suggest you to run the Internet connection troubleshooter to fix such issues, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R
• Type Control
• Click on Troubleshooting
• Click on Connect to the internet
• Click on Next and follow the On-screen instructions.

Network Settings says No Internet Connection, But...


I've tried unselecting the option but I didn't fix the issue - nor could I see why it would.

The following things connect to the internet fine:

• Microsoft Edge (new IE)
• Chrome
• Skype
• Steam's browser and Steam multiplayer games
• League of Legends launcher, patcher, PVP.net and game client
• Battle.net
• Pretty much everything

What doesn't work:

• Network Center (says I'm not connected)
• Windows Live Mail (logging in)
• Outlook (logging in)
• Notepad 8 (logging in)
• User Accounts (logging in)

The issue seems to affect any Microsoft product that tries to connect to Live.
