  1. My iphone photos will not upload to OneDrive

I just bought a new Dell XPS Windows 11 machine and now my iPhone will not sync with OneDrive which has both my work and personal OneDrive accounts. It keeps getting stuck on uploading photos and does not move. In reading the posts, this is a back-end issue and I need MSFT to create a ticket and fix my system to upload / back-up to OneDrive for my personal IPhone photos

  2. Trying to Upload photos from an Iphone 14 to Windows desktop

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

Uploading photos from an iPhone to a Windows desktop, especially when aiming to save them directly to an external hard drive, can sometimes be a bit tricky due to various compatibility and settings issues. Here are steps to troubleshoot and execute this process effectively:

    1. Check the Connection of Your External Hard Drive:
      • Ensure your external hard drive is properly connected to your Windows desktop. It should be visible in "This PC" as a drive.
      • If it's not showing up, try disconnecting and reconnecting it, and make sure it's properly powered on (if it requires external power).
    2. Trust the Computer:
      • When you connect your iPhone to the desktop via USB, your iPhone should prompt you to "Trust This Computer". Make sure you tap "Trust" and enter your passcode if required. This step is crucial for the computer to access your iPhone's data.
    3. Use Windows Photos App to Import:
      • Open the Photos app on your Windows desktop. You can find it by searching in the Start menu.
      • Click on the "Import" button in the upper right corner, then choose "From a USB device". This should detect your iPhone.
      • Follow the on-screen instructions. When it asks for a destination, you should be able to select your external hard drive as the import location. If not, proceed to the next step.
    4. File Explorer Method:
      • If the Photos app doesn't let you import directly to the external hard drive, open File Explorer.
      • Find your iPhone under "This PC" or "My Computer". You might need to unlock your iPhone again.
      • Access the DCIM folder, where your photos and videos are stored. You can then manually copy these files and paste them into your external hard drive's folder in File Explorer.
    5. Check iPhone and External Hard Drive Format:
      • Ensure your iPhone is using a photo format compatible with Windows. Go to Settings > Photos on your iPhone, and under "Transfer to Mac or PC", choose "Automatic" to ensure compatibility.
      • Also, make sure your external hard drive is formatted in a file system that Windows can read and write to, such as NTFS, FAT32, or exFAT. If it's not recognized, it might be formatted in a format not supported by Windows.
If you're still facing issues, it might be helpful to use cloud services (like iCloud for Windows) as an intermediary step or consult with Apple support for further assistance.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes.

    Best regards

My iphone photos will not upload to OneDrive

Is there an easy way to upload photos from iphone to tablet

    Hi,

I've just installed Windows 10 on my Yoga 3 and am regretting it. Apart from a host of minor bugs I'm finding it much harder to upload photos from my iphone to the Yoga.

Windows 7 works seamlessly with my laptop every time - just plug in iphone, click upload and it happened quickly every time. With Windows 8 installed on the Yoga new photos would sometimes upload automatically. If it didn't work I unplugged, waited a few
seconds and plugged in again it eventually did the job.

Windows 10 doesn't work that way. With some effort I've figured out a way to upload photos but it's much more time consuming. First I go to my iphone, open Onedrive and click "upload" or similar and it slowly uploads new photos to Onedrive. Then I go to
my Yoga, open Photos and after a complicated series of button clicks I manually copy any new photos to the clipboard. Then I open File Explorers, create a new folder and paste the photos into it. Much more complicated and expensive. I have pay as you go wireless
internet and it costs me every time I upload or download data.

My question - is there an easier way to upload iphone photos in Windows 10, preferably without using the internet? If not, Windows 10 is a significant backwards step for me which costs me time and money compared to Windows 7/8.

    Paul.
