Windows 10: My Jabra Evolve2 40 SE headset keeps decreasing it's microphone input level.

When i increase it back up it goes down automatically every time i speak. ex: +6.0dB and then while i was talking with my friends it decreases overtime to the lowest level -10.0dB. i keep trying to increase it and it just goes down without any warning or consent. there was no error messagesI've tried troubleshooting it didn't work, i've already disabled Exclusive Mode and i've selected it to Do Nothing with the communications.

We are experiencing the same issue with Jabra Evolve2 40 headsets and HP Elitebook 840 G9.

I think it was after the Windows 10 automatic update that my microphone suddenly stopped working. Sound comes through the headset but the microphone does not work. In Teams and Voice Recorder I get an error message that the microphone is not working.

I did all the necessary checks; I selected Jabra Evolve as default, I updated all drivers from Device manager but the problem was not solved.

After uninstalling all the devices and drivers in the "Audio Inputs and outputs" and "Sound, video and game controllers" sections in Device Manager and restarting the computer, the problem is solved for a short time, but after 1-2 days the microphone stops working again.

I think it might be a problem with Windows doing an automatic driver update. Has anyone experienced this problem before and solved it?

 

Windows 11 cannot detect the difference between headphones and Headsets

I purchased a brand new Windows 11 PC. Nothing fancy, i7-12650H with 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD drive, no brand name. I did the full Windows Update upon setting it up. Attempted to connect a bluetooth headset (Jabra Evolve2 65) and it recognized the device as a pair of headphones, ie no mic. I attempted to troubleshoot myself, by downloading Jabra's driver and firmware updater and it shows I have all the latest drivers and firmware. I've uninstalled several times, rebooted several times, and even attempted 2 different brands of headset and both had the same issue. Incidentally all work on my Windows 10 laptop as advertised, but what I noticed was Device Manager lists three entries for the Jabra on Windows 10, Headphones (Jabra Evolve2 65 Stereo) and two entries named - Headset (Jabra Evolve2 65 Hands-free AG Audio). In Windows 11 I only see the headphones entry. I opened a Microsoft chat session and allowed two different Support people to poke around and they couldn't figure it out. Again, I tried with a different brand, the Poly Voyager 4310 and the same thing happened with that product. This is a desktop with no integrated Mic so I need a headset for any practical for actual use. I've seen a lot of people having Mic problems, but it has generally been down to them not selecting the microphone for the headset. In my case I can't get the headset microphone to be an input option at all. Any advanced users have an idea about why this might be and how to fix it?
