Windows 10: My Kataro Pro B/T mouse keeps shutting off and takes forever to wake up.

I'm running Windows 10 on a laptop. I purchased a basic B/T gaming mouse to run with it. The mouse performs well, but if left for more than thirty seconds or so, it goes to sleep and takes anywhere from a couple seconds to fifteen seconds to wake up. This can be especially frustrating as if I'm not using the mouse immediately (in a game, for example) and then go to use it quickly, the delay for it to wake up can cause significant problems.

I have already gone to my Device Manager and unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under Power Management. It hasn't had any effect.

Is there another setting somewhere that I need to pay attention to? Is the issue likely with my B/T adapter, with the power management scheme, with the mouse, or with something else? What can I do to either cause my mouse to wake up more rapidly, to not fall asleep, or to not fall asleep as quickly?

Logitech M510 Mouse Keeps Waking Up Computer

Hi,

It's always good to preserve your device's power by putting it on sleep mode. If your mouse is waking up the device, we suggest following the steps below as another workaround:

• Press Windows Key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
• Once Command Prompt window opens, enter the following command: powercfg -devicequery wake_armed
• You should be able to see the list of all devices that are allowed to wake up your computer. Enter
  powercfg -devicedisablewake “device name” into Command Prompt to stop a device from waking up your PC. Remember to
  replace “device name” with a name of the actual device. It’s also important to keep the quotation marks, so do not delete them.
• You can also use powercfg -deviceenablewake “device name” command to enable certain device to wake up your PC, but it is optional. You can find the name of the specific device by using the Device Manager.

How to stop mouse movement from waking the computer?

Thanks lgentry. I have a Microsoft wired keyboard and a Logitech wireless mouse. Under Device Manager>Keyboards it lists two "HID Keyboard Device"s and the Microsoft keyboard. Unchecking the "Allow this device to wake the computer" for the two HID keyboards fixed the problem as you suggested. Weird that one must prevent "keyboards" from waking the computer to in fact prevent the mouse from waking it.

• Type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on
  Enter Key.
