Windows 10: My keyboard layout is stuck in UK layout despite changing it in settings.

I'm having some significant language problems with my keyboard input. I live in Australia and I have a keyboard that I bought here in Australia. Originally, when I was typing, I had the US International keyboard selected. I had a problem with this because when I would type “+a, it would come up with an accented “a”. And when I would just type ", it wouldn't appear unless I typed it twice. There was clearly something wrong with my language setting, so I had to play around with the keyboard layout.I changed it to a few different things. I played around with US and UK keyboard layouts to try and

Keyboard settings (UK layout not working)

I have a UK layout keyboard (shift + 2 is "), but my computer insists on using US layout (shift + 2 is @). I use a Corsair STRAFE keyboard.

• In iCue (Corsair keyboard app), the layout is set to UK.
• In Settings app, the system language is English UK. The Preferred language is English UK, and the keyboard has one layout, English UK.
  • If I add a US keyboard to it, and use Win + Space, two options show up to cycle through:
    • English (UK) - US Keyboard
      
    • English (US) - US Keyboard
• In Control Panel main menu, there is only 'Clock and Region,' not 'Clock,
  Language, and Region.'

Please any help would be great!

 

cannot change keyboard layout to US

I have a new laptop shipped with Windows 10 64bit. It is set to use English (New Zealand) as its language and US as the keyboard layout. While logging into the computer the \ key works fine, but once logged in the keyboard changes to UK layout.

I have checked Settings - Time & Language - Region & Language and it is set to English (New Zealand) with US QWERTY as the only keyboard.

Control Panel - Clock, Language and Region - Language shows the the language at the top of the list as being English (New Zealand) with keyboard layout: US.

In spite of this the keyboard continues to have a UK layout

Is there some other setting that needs changing?

 

Keyboard Layout not changing

I have created a profile for my son (child account) and am having issues with getting the keyboard set to Engish-UK.

When I log into his account on Win 10

• I get a number of Visual C++ errors but can't see the program causing it
• Subsequently the keyboard layout is stuck on American
• I try to change to UK by removing the American language pack and setting overrides in the Advanced settings and control panel. However, the American pack continues to stay and all the changes get reverted back to original
• For the case of simplicity I have made him an Administrator on my machine though originally he was a Standard User

When I or my wife login to this machine there is no issue with keyboard layouts and we do not show the American language pack as existing on this machine. The other thing to add is that his Windows login user id is NOT a Microsoft email address but something
else (Google Custom Domain).

Appreciate if anyone has any ideas on this?
