Windows 10: My laptop battery indicator dissapeared from my taskbar for no reason

I'm using a windows 10 dell laptop. Today when I opened my laptop my battery icon in my taskbar was gone, I went to the settings (turn system icons on or off) to see if I could turn it back on but the option was grey and I couldn't turn it on or off. Then i ran the troubleshooter as said by a Microsoft agent on another page but it still didn't work so I would like to know if there is any other way for me to fix this issue.

Battery indicator disappeared from taskbar

The battery indicator disappeared from the taskbar after the last Win 10 update (version 1511). I tried the flwg:

"Press and hold or right-click an empty area on the taskbar, and then tap or click Properties. Under the
Taskbar tab, under Notification Area, click Customize... Tap or click
Turn system icons on or off. Under Behaviors, tap or click On in the drop-down list next to Power, and then tap or click OK."

The problem is "Power" appears to be "off" and cannot be switched to "on." The on/off switch just does not work. (All the others work with the exception of "location".)

Any suggestions for a solution to this issue?

There are several reasons why you are having issues charging the computer's battery. Having said that, we will be doing some troubleshooting steps to isolate the cause of this issue. Before we proceed, may we know the following:

• Any changes made on the computer prior to this concern?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
• Can you send us a screenshot of the battery indicator?
  Note: Please do not include any personal information.
• Have you tried using a different power adapter? if so, did you experience the same issue?
• Have you tried connecting your power adapter to a different power outlet?

In the meantime, we suggest that you perform a power troubleshooter on the computer. Here's how:

• Right-click on the Start menu.
• Select Control Panel.
• Next to the View by: option, select Small icons.
• Go to Troubleshooting.
• Choose System and Security.
• Click on Power.
• Follow the on-screen prompt.

Once done, kindly check if you will still experience the same issue.

laptop battery wont charge after latest update

1. Shutdown your laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Connect the AC power adapter to your laptop.

4. Power on the laptop

5. Open the Device Manager by typing Devmgmt.msc into Start Menu or from Control Panel.

6. Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s okay if you only have 1).

7. Shutdown the laptop.

8. Insert the battery.

9. Power on the laptop.

If above suggestions wont resolve the battery charge issue then follow below steps.




Step 2

1. Shutdown the laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Start the laptop with only AC adapter connected to laptop.

4. When you login to Windows OS connect the battery while Windows OS working.
