My laptop came with preinstalled Windows 11 home on WesternDigital SSD 1TB drive. I unplugged that WD 1TB ssd drive from laptop so that I can install Windows 11 Pro on new Samsung SSD 2TB using Windows 11 Pro usb stick.The installation was successful AFAICT. However for some reason Windows says it is a Windows 11 Home rather than Pro. How did i end up installing windows 11 Home using Windows 11 Pro usb stick? I really need to boot into the system that i bought and installed - Windows 11 PRO. Ideally i'd like to dualboot into the preinstalled Windows 11 Home from time to time without going int

Windows 11 Pro came preinstalled to my Lenovo Legion Pro laptop. Today I was asked to activate windows for some reason. Windows 11 Pro came preinstalled and was activated. It says I have the digital key for Windows 11 Home and to use this disk that I don't have to install.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

 

Install Windows 10 Pro on a System that Came with Windows 11 Home

Howdy! I very recently purchased a new Alienware Aurora R12 system. Unfortunately, it came with Windows 11 Home pre-loaded. I have an unused Windows 10 Pro retail product key and would like to use Windows 10 Pro instead. I'd much prefer to give Windows 11 at least a year for Microsoft to shake most of its bugs out before using it. What would be the best way to go about that? Just reformat the SSD entirely and use a USB stick with the Windows 10 21H2 setup files? Since the system came with Windows 11 Home, would it pick up the Home license and prevent me from installing 10 Pro? Any advice would be appreciated.

 

Windows 11 Pro Upgrade from Windows 10 Pro Edition

No but after it installed the malfunctioning Windows 11 upgrade it was listed as Windows 11 Pro. Microsoft Windows support advised I reinstall Windows 10 Pro and said that Windows 11 is really only meant for new PC's that come with it preinstalled. MSI website doesn't list my 2020 GT76 Titan dt-039 notebook on their Windows 11 upgrade eligibility list so I guess that's why the Windows 11 Pro upgrade failed. I suggest being careful with trying the Windows 11 upgrade despite it stating my notebook was capable of running Windows 11 it was wrong. Luckily I have the original Windows 10 Pro USB Flash drive because the Windows 11 Pro upgrade was so incomplete I had no way of reverting notebook back to Windows 10 without reinstalling from a USB Flash.
