Windows 10: My laptop camera shows up blank- as a grey box

My laptop is an hp spectre x360 2 in 1 laptop 14-ef0xxx. My camera HP True Vision 5MP Camera stopped working about a year ago and I couldn't work out how to fix it. Whenever I open my camera app, or any other filming apps, nothing comes up, not a black screen, but a completely blank grey one. When I look in my settings the preview just shows up as a grey box again. I tried disabling it, then enabling it again. I've reset the camera settings. I've tried troubleshooting, but nothing I've tried has changed the problem. The white light to indicate the camera is on still works though.Not sure if

settings to see if the camera access is turned on. Kindly follow the steps below to check the camera privacy settings:

• Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
• Near the top of the Settings app window is the search box, kindly type the word "webcam" or "camera".
• From the list of results choose Camera privacy settings.
• Make sure that "Let apps use my camera" toggle is set to On.

the camera screen shows blank

The Camera is on but the screen shows a blank screen on Camera ,Zoom as well as Meet. I am using a Windows 10 Laptop.

Please help me asap since I require it for Educational purpose.

 

How do i rid of the grey box in the top left of my desktop?

It's odd for a random grey box to show up on your desktop after the last update occurred on your computer. It could also be a software installed on your computer that's causing for it to appear. However, let us not assume anything yet until we isolated your
concern by providing the answers to these questions:

• Did you start noticing the grey box after or prior the latest update?
• What were the updates that have been installed on your computer?
• Have you installed any software prior to the issue?
• What are the troubleshooting steps you've tried to resolve your concern?
• Can you provide us a screenshot of the grey box?
