Windows 10: My laptop cant detect any new headphones at all but it still plays sound through them.

Ive had these headphones for a while now and the one im using has been detected but ive bought 2 new ones but none of them were found by the laptop not in the jack or either of the 2 USB ports.

Can someone help me solve this problem im getting really sick and tired of it.

Headphones not detected and sound continues to play through speakers

After doing a complete reset and re installation of windows on my laptop the laptop no longer detects headphones.

With headphones plugged into the headphone jack the sound still plays through the speakers. When I look in playback devices while the headphones are connected there are no headphones detected at all.

I have tried updating drivers but it didn't make a difference.

Method :

I would also suggest you to make your headphone as the default device when it is plugged in.

This may happen when you have the external speakers set to default.

Perform the task mentioned below to set headphones as default:

1. On the start screen of windows 10 press the ‘Windows key + X’ key on the keyboard and then click on control panel and then Hardware and sound option.

2. Click in Sound, then a new window will open up.

3. In the new windows click on the tab "Playback" and right click in the window and click on Show Disabled devices.

4. Now check if headphones are listed there and right click on it and choose enable.

5. Highlight that headphones and click on "Set as Default".

Headphone Not Detected

i have updated my laptop last week. after the update i am facing a problem that when i attached my headphone it does not detected by windows but the sound goes on playing through speakers. i tried many things including uninstalling and re-installing the
driver. when i installed new driver with my headphone connected in jack. the sound comes through headphones but after disconnecting it does not re-detected by the windows..
