Windows 10: my laptop cant read documents on my phone

I installed windows 10 on my laptop which is brand new. but when i try to connect my phone. it reads the device and storage. but it cannot access any of the documents or even pictures. it just says folder empty. my phone is a tecno camon 18. and i put the setting on file transfer. what's going on?

Your list confirms my phone is eligible, Lumia 521. The windows Insider App fails after ~ 15 seconds, restores data and gives me error 80073cf9. I trouble shot this and went thru all the steps mentioned on several websites including MS without any luck. Short of a hard reset, this is where I am now. Suggestions appreciated.

 

How do I change (Read Only) on Microsoft Word


When I downloaded Windows 10 and used my Microsoft Word it was in (Read Only) and I tried looking up how to solve the problem including looking at properties on my document to uncheck read only, but it was already unchecked. I have tried all the steps suggested.
