    Hi,My Laptop is underperforming when I'm charging it. Whenever I plug in my laptop's charger, I notice a increase in the CPU clock speed which to me is normal since I want my laptop to perform better on charge however, Instead of performing better my laptop underperforms. FPS in game drops heavily the moment I plug in my charger, The GPU clock memory remains the same. The temperature is normal aswell so I don't suspect it's a overheating issue. and my CPU utilization is also low not 100%.System Specs:HP Zbook 15 G3Intel Core I7–6820HQNvidia Quadro M1000M16GB Ram

    Slow performance of a Windows 10 laptop with i5 CPU@2.60 GHz

    The PC Benchmark app shows CPU hash test results of 33 MB/s (single thread) & 102MB/s(multi-thread) for the slow

    Asus 15 inch U56E while a Dell 8000 desktop with a i5 CPU @2.67GHz shows 248 MB/s & 828MB/s for these tests.

    The clock speeds are close while the test results are memory speeds were 572MB/s & 1406MB/s for the desktop.

    Any suggestions for the cause of the laptop's low performance?

    Why is my CPU at max clock-speed

    so this is my first time doing this so please bear over with me
    i have a rog strix z370-e with a i7 8700k cpu and after i last turned it on, it now runs at max clock-speed (4000-4400+) all the time and peaking at 7-9% load when idle (according to CAM)
    i have tried scanning for virus with Bitdefender and nothing turned up

    CPU speed at 0.48Ghz during low battery

    Hi,

    On my laptop, I have noticed that the CPU speed is dramatically reduced from 1.98Ghz to 0.48Ghz whilst low on battery. As soon as I plug the laptop in, the CPU speed returns to 1.98Ghz. This loss of CPU speed has a great impact on system performance, rendering the laptop near useless.

    My laptop is running an Intel Core i3, and I believe that the technology which controls the speed of the CPU is called SpeedStep. There is no option in the BIOS to turn this feature off. I have also tried to change this setting in the 'Power Plan' options (in Windows). I changed the minimum processor state to 100% and the cooling policy to 'Active'.

    I would like to keep my CPU running at 1.98Ghz. Any suggestions?
