Windows 10: My laptop crashed and disabled the pin password and now I'm locked out

my laptop crashed suddenly with a blue screen and when I restarted it I couldn't log in with my pin because it was disabled The sign-in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns. Use a different sign-in option, or keep your device powered on for at least 2 hours and then try again However, my laptop wasn't shut down repeatedly neither I tried to log in with a wrong pin so I am not sure why is this happening to me.


Anyway, I tried to log in with the regular password but I don't remember which account I was using on the laptop so I've tried all the accounts passwords that I remember but they didn't work. I waited 2 hours to use the pin but it was still disabled.


Now I'm looked out and I have no idea how to log in to my laptop.

From the description provided, I understand that the sign in option is not working after you disabled the option for PIN input for password.

At this point, I would suggest you to deploy the
System Restore option in Windows.

This option takes your PC back to an earlier point in time, called a system restore point. Restore points are generated when you install a new app, driver, or Windows update, and when you

create a restore point manually. Restoring won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made.

  Right-click (or press and hold) the Start button, and then select Control Panel.

  Search Control Panel for Recovery.
  
• 
  Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
  
• 
  Choose the restore point related to the problematic app, driver, or update, and then select
  Next > Finish.
  

In order to disable the PIN sign in option in Windows 10, refer to the below steps.

Step 1: Access PC settings and open
Users and accounts.

Step 2: Select Sign-in options and tap the
Remove button under PIN.

Note: you can navigate to the same path in order to re-enable the PIN.

Microsoft Account PIN and password

We appreciate the screenshot that you provided. to start troubleshooting the issue with you logins, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how login pin goes back to password:

• Click Start menu and go to Settings.
• In Settings, click the Accounts icon.
• Click on Sign-in options.
• Change both your password and pin one by one.

Disabling the Screen Lock Password

I want to disable the password option on my screen lock. When i go to Settings -> Lock & Wallpaper I can change the password. but there is no option to turn it off. How do i turn it off?
