Laptop Login Problems

Hi,

My sister recently could not physically sign into her laptop because the finger scanner on her laptop could not identify her finger print. She was asked to sign in using her PIN. However, she has forgotten BOTH her sign in PIN and her sign in password and
did not write them down anywhere. Is there a way to solve this issue so she can sign into her laptop without all of her data in the laptop being deleted? She was instructed to reset her Hotmail password so she followed the steps and even after resetting her
Hotmail password, she is able to log into her Hotmail account but was unable to log into the laptop itself. Any suggestions into fixing this issue?

Laptop won' t shutdown (or restart) and sleep [takes forever]

The situation:

• When shutting down, the laptop proceeds as normal until the screen turns off.
• After the screen turns off, it takes a while for the battery LED to go off.
• After that the power led remains on and it looks like the laptop is stuck in this state forever.
• When I try to get my laptop to sleep, something similar happens; the power led remains on, the battery led turns off and the laptop appears to be stuck in this state.

My laptop is: Asus FX553VD.

What I've tried:

• I have tried to troubleshoot power management and power options.
• Tried clean boot.
• Updated the BIOS.
• Reinstalled windows and tried shutdown and sleep (without installing the drivers and stuff), however that didn't work either.

Additional Info:

• I have multiple operating systems installed in my laptop, however this problem persists on windows only (the OSes are installed on different drives).
• The disk usage is abnormally high.
• There are spikes in CPU usage that kick up the fan really fast while idle.

Please suggest other ideas as to what I should do?

[It appears that the only option I have left is to reinstall everything]

 

Restarted laptop, fingerprint, pin, Edge and more totally reset.

Hi, I recently restarted my windows 11 laptop, but it seems the account, or account files where deleted? I immediately noticed that after the restart, my fingerprint scanner didn't work, neither did my Laptop's Pin. I was told that the device was offline, and it had forgotten my WiFi login. I used my phone as a hotspot, and logged in with my full password.

However I noticed that my fingerprint, pin, bookmarks and many more things where now gone. I reset my laptop (a reinstall of Windows but kept my files) and the issue did not resolve. It isn't the driver or hardware, as my fingerprint worked totally fine once I set it a second time after reseting my laptop.

I've reset my laptop before, but last time i didn't have my Microsoft Edge bookmarks and passwords etc erased. I also had issues with my Microsoft 365 license, but I think this has been resolved.

I looked at my appdata folder, and it seems to have been whiped? I'm not sure what's happened, or what to do next.
