  1. My laptop display was so bright even the brightness control is already in 0. How can I fix...

I just recently update my laptop in Windows 11. Before the update everything is fine but when it's finished my display was bright. I try to lower it but it has nothing done. I already restarted it a few times but it's still the same. Update the monitor and display adapters in device manager it's still no use. What do I need to do to lower the brightness?

    :)

Display brightness control cannot be found

I am using Windows 10 Pro 2004 on a Dell 270S mini-tower PC. Neither Windows 10 nor the Intel driver software provide a brightness control. The issue was also with Windows 10 1909. I have a hunch that Microsoft and Intel each thought that the brightness control would be provided by the other. I simply cannot find it.

The display adaptor device is only described as 'HD Graphics' using Intel driver 10.18.10.5059 dated 16 June 2018.
The display screen is a Dell P2212H(Analog).

If anyone has any suggestions where to look for a brightness control, apart from the one on the display monitor control panel, I would be delighted to know about it.

  3. Unable to Change Screen Brightness of Laptop

So I'm not sure how long this has been happening but for some reason, I can't change the brightness on my laptop screen. I have linked a picture and as you can see, my brightness says 0% and that I can't change it, however my actual brightness is at 100%. I have looked around everywhere and the only responses I have found don't work for me. Here's a list of everything I have tried:
    - Reinstalling Display Drivers
    - Rolling Back Display Drivers
    - Reset Settings on UWT4
    - Power and Battery Settings
(UWT4 or Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 is a customizer for Windows 10 and I thought that might be the problem but it wasn't)

If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, it's greatly appreciated! Thanks! -

Can not control the laptop brightness

    Hi Dinh,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand the inconvenience you are facing currently.

I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

What happens when you try to change the screen's brightness?

For a majority of laptops, there isn't a control for setting the contrast. However, you can set the brightness of many laptops by pressing and holding the Fn key, and then pressing a function key to decrease brightness
    or increase brightness.

I suggest you to uninstall the display driver from your computer and then install in Compatibility mode.

To uninstall the driver follow the steps given below.

    • Press Windows key + X and select
      Device Manager.

    • Search for Display Adapter
      and expand it.

    • Right click on the Display Adapter
      and select Uninstall.

    • Do not restart your computer.
Once you have successfully uninstalled the driver, please install the driver in compatibility mode following the steps given below.

Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows

Make older apps or programs compatible with Windows - Microsoft Support

    (Applies to Windows 10)

Hope the information helps. Please let us know if the issue persist and we will be happy to assist you further.
