Windows 10: My laptop doesn't recognize my plugged-in microphone

I plugged in a microphone it works properly in a PC to my laptop, and my laptop recognized it as a headphone. I go to the devices settings and it marks that I plugged in a headphone, but it was a mic instead.So how can I change its setting from a headphone to a mic? Thank you!

Microphone doesn`t work

My microphone and ear-phone doesn`t work. Please help me, I have windows 7 home basic, my computer reproduces a sound, but devices no.

 

My headphones microphone doesn´t work

I recently updated my Asus laptop to windows 10 and noticed that my microphone doesn´t work anymore. Before it was working well and after the update it started using my laptops own mic and in settings i cant change input to anything

 

Recognize a Microphone is Plugged in at Startup

I have a computer with a single dual headphone/microphone jack. Realtek is installed to manage the driver. If I plug a microphone in, Realtek pops up and asks me what I've plugged in. If I click "microphone" it works fine. But if I leave the microphone in,
shut down the computer, and turn it back on, the microphone does not work. I'd have to take it out and reinsert it for the computer to recognize it again (alternatively, if I click in Realtek and click on the little black icon representing the jack, I can
trigger the pop-up window and tell the computer a microphone is plugged in. But I don't want to have to do that all the time).

In sum, how do I get the computer to recognize a microphone is still plugged in after each reboot?
