Windows 10: my laptop formatted itself and I lost all my files

I was doing work and suddenly my laptop blue screen and rebooted. After restarting, it formatted itself, Now all my files and docs are gone on my desktop. Help! I have tried looking for windows.old file - can't findMy backup drive still exists in my current view. I have tried restarting 4 times - didn't work. There is no two profile for me to choose from on my login page. Please help!

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

Laptop format

I have to format the laptop of a friend with windows 7 32-bit
I took everything he had on his old hdd by connecting it directly to my PC
The files were sent amazingly fast because of sata speed and I wouldn't deal with
my 2 gigs USB because its really slow and there is 125gigs info
(That means I have to insert and remove the USB 62 times *Frown )
I have to insert all files in the new hdd after formating it, but I want to format it using my
PC and insert inside all the files. How can I do that?
If I insert the hdd inside the laptop and format it there, I have to remove it and than
I am afraid 2 windows 7 hdds wont be compatible and I wouldnt send all files in there
Any idea?

Are you able to log into computer?

This issue might have occurred because of upgrade file corruption. Follow the steps below and check.

I suggest you to create a Windows 10 installation media and perform a Startup Repair on the device and check if it helps to resolve the issue.
This is an alternate way to boot the device and run recovery tools when something goes wrong with the Operating system.

Please follow the steps below to do Startup repair:

          and boot Windows 10 from it.
          
          If you don't have one, you can Create an installation Media.

          In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’
