My laptop got stolen when I try to find my device it says the device hasn't been active for 30 days I have the model info and serial number

Gateway puts tracking device into laptops

Manufacturers have to do everything these days to stand out of the crowd. Gateway will now be putting a tracking device into the M250, M460 & M680 laptops. With the device, laptops can be traced and found, once stolen. The service will cost customers $99 for a three year coverage. If the laptop is not found within 60 days upon activation of the tracking device, the owner of the notebook may get up to $1,000 back.

1. First, ensure you contact the local Police and report the laptop stolen. They too may be able to locate it for you.

Ensure you give them all the information about the device. Serial Number, Model Number, etc..

1. Completely Reinstall Windows 10 and Register the system in Their Names.

2. Create and use a New Profile if they know your account login info then remove your profile from Windows.

5. In future install and activate an application called Prey. It is free and if active can track the device.

 

Stolen laptop and find my device

My laptop was stolen and I looked on Find My Device and the tracking has been off. I wanted to turn it on but it says can not reach the device. Is there a way to make it turn on as soon as the laptop gets network? Also, if they factory data reset the device
through the boot up method, does it remove my ability to track it?
