My laptop had an update and now it does not recognize the original battery in the laptop...

I own a Lenovo Think Pad X230 and downloaded an update on 9/11 of .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for W10 Version 2004 for X64 KB4576478 prior to that the laptop recharged the battery without a problem. After the update I get pop ups telling me the battery is not an original battery and is incompatible with the system and needs to be replaced with an original battery. I've tried draining the capacitors twice with no change, I've cleaned the battery and insured it was in tight, I've uninstalled the ACPI Compliant Control Listings twice and rebooting and it hasn't worked. I'm not sure it fully uninstalled when I clkd the command to uninstall a box with a bar graph shows up showing that it uninstalled but only about a 1/4 of the way and disappears before it shows it fully uninstalled is that normal? I've come to the conclusion that there is something in the update that is preventing the connection between the charging program and the battery. I'm thinking there is some sort of handshake that should be happening and isn't would that be the problem? If it is how do I fix it?

    :)

    Laptop battery issue

Hey everyone! I have an old dell laptop with a pentium 2 and 64MB of ram. Real powerful(lol). It is running 98. The old battery had died and purchased a generic replacement supposedly for that model. The numbers match and all. The problem is the notebook will not recognize the battery. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks. It is just for notes and stuff.

Laptop no longer charging since Windows 10 update

If the laptop works without the battery then charger is functioning correctly. Take a cloth with a bit of rubbing alcohol on it (or some on-the-go alcohol swabs), and clean the metal contacts that connect your battery to your laptop.

Make sure to install all Windows important updates.

Install latest versions of your laptop device drivers you can download the latest device drivers from the device manufacturer or from your laptop manufacturer website.

    Step 1

    1. Shutdown your laptop.

    2. Remove the battery.

    3. Connect the AC power adapter to your laptop.

    4. Power on the laptop

    5. Open the Device Manager by typing Devmgmt.msc into Start Menu or from Control Panel.

    6. Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s ok if you only have 1).
