Windows 10: My laptop has trouble staying connected to the internet.

I got my laptop slightly over a year ago, about 2 or 3 weeks ago I noticed that my laptop would not stay connected to the internet. I know for a undeniable FACT that it has 100% absolutely nothing to do with my router. Every other device in my home connects to it, and my laptop is right in front of the router so its not like its far away, there is also no issues with the internet on any other device besides mine, and I have tried other networks and it does the same thing. I can connect for a short amount of indeterminate time then it says I have no internet and the only thing I have tried that

• When was the last time your laptop connected to the internet?

laptop cant connect or stay connected to internet

my niece has a ASUS Laptop X55C-DS31 laptop she stopped using because it kept losing internet and couldn't reconnect.

router was fine, it was something not working with the laptop. in fact, the laptop would reconnect if the laptop was brought in the same room as the router but that's the only way so im "assuming" the network card acts like the antenna and that must be the issue but then im doing a lot of guessing about all this. so my question is:

is it safe to assume its the wireless network card went bad and it just needs a new one? or, what are the odds that it could be a motherboard lan/wan issue?

it was working fine with no problems for almost 8 months before it lost the ability to stay connected to the router wirelessly. I only just found out about this and I don't have it in my hands yet (she threw it in the closet) so after I get my hands on it, I can open it up and have a look, but what can I really tell by looking at it?

Method 1: Internet Troubleshoot

Windows has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Internet connection. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your internet.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
  
• 
  Run the Internet Connection troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: I suggest you to update drivers and check if that helps. If that issue persist please uninstall and reinstall latest drivers available in manufacturer
website.

• Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.

• 
  Select Network Adapter and expand the driver icon.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
  
• 
  Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.
