Windows 10: My Laptop Inbuilt mic records my sound as a chipmunk

My Laptop Inbuilt mic records my sound as a chipmunk I tried turning off enhancement but it doesn't work.also Drivers are uptodated. any solutions?Windows 10 64bitI5 11th Gen 3501 dell insprion

Windows 10 has USB mic grayed out in sound/recording

I have Samson C01U USB microphone. This mic worked perfectly with Windows 8.1. Upgraded to Windows 10 and I now have issues. Device Manager says the device is working properly. The Sound/Recording tab say the mic is ready, yet it is grayed out in the recording
device list. Another USB mic (integrated with Webcam) works fine. Comments, suggestions, advice? Better yet, solution?

 

What is making my mic output a high pitched, fast chipmunk audio?

I occasionally try using an app (Cortana, audio recording from the mic, etc) that uses the mic, and find the don't work because the audio is converted to a high pitched, fast chipmunk sound. It hasn't happened often enough for me to figure out what is doing it and repeat it. It's just intermittent.

I didn't have this problem before going from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, and it still happens after the anniversary update.

It's easy to fix by disabling and then enabling the mic in device properties window, but I just want it to work without having to do that.

 

Sound Recorder isn't Working!

-Are you using voice recorder or any other app to do so?

I would suggest you to try these methods and check if that helps:

Method 1:

Please run Recording Run Troubleshooter.

You may try to run the in-built Windows Recording Audio troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X..
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click on View All.
• Click on Windows Recording Audio to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to use the sound recorder and check if you are able to record the sound.

• In the Windows Start screen, type “sound recorder”, then select Sound Recorder from the search results.
• Try recording your voice through your microphone, then play it back. To do so, simply tap or click Start Recording, speak to the microphone, and then save the file so you can play the recording.

This will helps us to find out if the issue is with any online messenger like Skype or Windows.


I also suggest you to install the latest driver for Mic from the manufacturer’s website.
