Windows 10: My laptop is frozen off on a Windows update

I used the update and close option to allow the latest windows 11 update and switch my laptop off. More than 24 hours later my laptop is still frozen, with a black screen. The only activity is a slow blinking light indicating some hard drive activity. What do you suggest I do? Thanks, Iain.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

• What exactly do you mean by My computer was frozen?
• Are you able to boot the computer?
• What is the make and model of your device?

If you don't have a recovery discs that came with your laptop, I suggest you to contact your device seller to provide them for your device.
