Windows 10: My Laptop is not able to access inbuilt Camera and Microphone despite all possible efforts

I am using HP Pavilion Laptop having inbuilt camera, Microphone and a headphone jack. I am getting strange problem detailed as follows.


1. Camera app suggesting "We cannot find Your Camera". In device manager, Camera App is found in "hidden devises" option but with grey marking means it is not working. I have tried to uninstall Camera App and reinstall it too as suggested by Microsoft. Windows PowerShellAdmin > Copy and paste the command below to PowerShell and press Enter >Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.WindowsCamera* Remove-AppxPackage


2. My Window 10 version is latest. Version 1099 OS Build 18363.752


3. I have checked everything in Privacy Section. Also enabled all options.

4. Camera did worked in between for sometime I don't know how but then when I updated "System Firmware" Drivers under Firmware in Devise Manager, it updated my laptop's BIOS and thereafter Camera again stopped working.


5. Sound Control option is also not visible and Microphone in Setting options is greyish in colour meaning Microphone is also not being identified by any system/app. While I can hear music on laptop speaker/headset but neither laptop microphone/headset is able to record my voice/other side on audio/video conference is able to hear me.


6. Couple of days back, My camera was working on Zoom application but not on Skype Application. Now, it is not working on none of the application. It suggest, that Camera devise/hardware is perfectly in order but somehow it is not being recognised by Window OS.


Pl. Help. I am unable to use any tool which requires camera and microphone specially in current difficult time.

Camera and Microphone Privacy

This issue occurs due to permission issue, driver issue, license for an app is out of sync with the license installed on the computer or if the app is not updated. To give permission to Camera and Microphone app, you may follow
these steps:

• Go to Settings.
• Select Privacy.
• Look for Camera, make sure that “Let apps use my camera” is turned On. You may choose the apps that can use your camera as well.
• Go back to Privacy and select Microphone, make sure that “Let apps use my microphone” is turned On. You may choose the apps that can use your microphone as well.
