Windows 10: my laptop is saying I have certain security settings and other things locked by an admin...

the computer seems to be burning through the battery life. It has a lot of background processes running so I checked my security center to see if I might have something unwanted on my computer but I cannot use a lot of the advanced security settings. I have tried a reset and a security check i looked through my computer for any strange files but after a while they all look like internal programs so i cant tell if i have a virus or not. i also am pretty regularly asked to change my pin about every 6 weeks by my "administrator" even through i am the only person who has an account on the computer

I am listed as the only user and as an admin. But windows has locked me out of certain folders on my external drive. It says to take ownership but it won't let me. Please help these files are my pictures and I am a photographer!
