Windows 10: My laptop is stuck/freezes every time it reaches 96% My cursor Froze

My Acer Laptop windows 10, is on a windows update. I tried all my old passwords and it wont work. I tried changing my password and entered it while uninstalling latest feature update, The new password is incorrect said by the system. Pls I need help to fix my laptop so I can get back to work.

Intermittent Freezing linked to Cursor movement

Hi,

The cursor on my laptop freezes every few seconds when I move it. This happens with both my bluetooth mouse and my inbuilt touchpad. I know the laptop is freezing and not just the cursor because if I run an app with a progress bar it also freezes at the same time as the cursor. The freezing only seems to happen when I move the cursor.

The freezing is just momentary (like it pauses for a second and then goes on as normal). I do not have to do anything to get it to unfreeze.

I have tried re-installing the drivers for mouse and touch pad.

I have defragged and cleaned up the HD.

I have tried doing a system restore but just get an error (I only have 1 restore point because I stupidly deleted them to create space I didnt need in case it was a space issue).

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Feature Update to Windows 10, version 1709 stuck at 96%

As the title of the topic suggests, the update is just stuck at 96%. This is the second time I'm trying to download this update. The first time it was stuck at 95% and now this.

Is there any other way to download this update. And also, how should I cancel the update cause as I'm writing this it is stuck. Or should I just wait it out for it to fail by itself?

EDIT: It got solved on its own. Will reopen a new thread if any new error occurs.

 

Login Freezing

My windows 10 laptop froze yesterday whilst using chrome and all I could do was a forced power off. Now every time I login to the computer it freezes up as soon as I reach the desktop screen. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
