    My laptop is stuck in an endless loop when trying to update.


    I am trying to update my laptop to the latest Windows 11 version. When I started the update process, my computer said that there was not enough free storage space on the computer and I needed to add a USB drive to do the update. I did this and began the update process. At a certain point I got an error popup saying "Please insert the external storage media and press OK". Clicking OK did nothing and just brought the popup back up. I then removed and reinserted the USB drive and it allowed me to click OK on the popup. I then got two messages on the bottom of the screen saying "attempting to reco

    In order to help you with your concern about your PC which is stuck in endless loop, kindly answer the following questions first:

    • What are the options that you see under Options and boot options? If you can, please post here a screen shot.
    • Was there a new hardware installed?
    • Were there new apps installed?
    • Have you done any recent driver updates?
    • What is the current build and version of your Windows 10?
    • What other troubleshooting steps have you tried?

    Windows 10 update problem - endless loop

    I attempted to updated to Windows 10 on my Dell XPS laptop. It seemed to go okay but now I am stuck in an endless loop alternating between two errror messages. The first one says WDF_VIOLATION. The second one says NTFS_File_System. Does anyone have any
    suggestions?
