Windows 10: My laptop is using a lot of RAM, it's brand new with 32gb of ram and it's using 12.5 gb....

I looked at the processes in task manager and it only showed like 2gb being used it's completely idle and straight from the storeSpecs:13th Gen IntelR CoreTM i7-13700HX processorRTX 4070 Laptop gpu

16gb ram vs 32gb ram Upgrade

8 GB's is what I would tell everybody to have as a minimum. For gamer or power user, I suggest going to 16GB of RAM. 32GB or more RAM I usually only see for people who are running lots of VM's, databases, or high end rendering type applications.

I did check the compatibility list and when I first installed it, it shows 32GB of 32GB ram and I am using windows 11 Pro.

The motherboard manufacturer cannot confirm if the ram is compatible. As well as no one knows why 16GB was zero issues for 4.5 years, As they say it is not compatible. It was only when I used the same ram to upgrade to 32GB and "latest windows update" then issues occured.

Seeing most ram is not available anymore on that QVL list and would be buy ram, return, repeat until I get ram that is on that list and does work. Looks like I will have to replace the motherboard, just to upgrade to 32GB.
