Windows 10: my laptop keeps chiming every 10 seconds

I cant get my asus computer to quit chiming every 10 sec running win 10

:)

 

Sound Chiming on My Laptop - Windows 10

My laptop keeps making a chiming noise every 3-4 min. and sometimes less. I looked it up under "Sounds" and it was the "ringtone" for "Close Program". But, even when google chrome is open or when there are no programs running the noise still chimes. I have
no idea what to do, or how to stop it. Can someone help?

The laptop is a Sony Vaio and i installed Windows 10.

 

No Chime on Startup

Please follow the below methods and check if that helps.

Method 1: Update sound adapter driver.

Step 1: Check for the latest driver update through Windows Updates.

• At the Start screen, type Windows Update.
• Click or tap Settings on the right side of the screen, and then select
  Install optional updates from the left results.
• When the Windows Update control panel opens, click on “Check for Updates” on the top left corner to receive a fresh list of updates.

Incompatible or not properly installed graphics card drivers are the most common cause of this issue.

Step 2: Follow the steps below to update the sound drivers.

• Press Windows + X key on the keyboard.
• Go to device manager.
• Right-click your sound/audio device.
• Click Update Driver Software and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears.

Method 2: Update the latest drivers from the website.

Go to the manufacturer’s website
and update the drivers.

Hi,

If the notification sound has already been turned off but you still receive that chime randomly, then there's a possibility that the notifications you are receiving are from apps and other senders that has not been turned off.

For us to isolate this case, we would like to ask the following information:

• When do you get the notification?
• Do you get it when a new email arrives or if someone sends you a message in Skype, etc.?

To manage the notifications from other senders, follow the steps below:

• Go to Settings, then click System.
• Click on Notifications & actions.
• Under Get notifications from these senders, toggle Off
  the app that you don't want to receive any notification.
