    My laptop keeps on pressing backward slash "\"


    Hi.My laptop randomly keeps pressing the backward slash repeatedly.I tried disabling it on powertoys or keytweak, but it doesn't seem to work.I opened the keyboard tester but the key doesn't register being pressed even though it's still being typed continuously.Uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard doesn't work as well.Anyone else had the same issue?I have Lenovo Ideapad S540 14" 2019.Thank you.

    Yes, I've looked at the post on wrong keys. Dated 2010, and didn't help.

    Cannot get Forward OR Backward Slash to work in Windows 10

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community and we are happy to help you.

    You are not able use forward slash key and backward slash key on your keyboard

    Could you answer few questions:

    • Have you made any recent changes on your computer prior to the issue?
    • What is the make and model of the keyboard?
    • Do you have problem with any other keys?

    I would like you to use On screen keyboard and check.

    Follow these steps:

    • Press Windows key+W and type On Screen Key Board.
    • Select Turn on screen Key Board on or off.
    • Click on Start On Screen Key Board.
    A new key board window will open up. Try to use that and check if it works.

    Post back us with results. We’ll be glad to assist you.

    Backward slash on the keyboard gives something else. That key doesn't give a backward slash.

    What is the question?

    The backward slash key is immediately above the enter key: \

    The forward slash key is immediately to the left of the right shift key: /
