Windows 10: My laptop keeps shutting down and it isn't overheating

My HP Elitebook 810 keeps shutting down at random times. At first i thought it was the cpu overheating so i measured that but it didn't really overheat before it shut down. My pc is optimized with different power plans and when i use the Ultimate or High performance or even the Balanced power plan, it doesn't take long before it just shuts down. Only when i use the Power saver plan. I used the Registry editor to optimize it and that has nothing to do with it because i factory reset my laptop and the problem still persists. Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

 

Older laptop keeps shutting down.

Check the CPU temperature since overheating can cause a forced shut down. I suggest removing the back and cleaning out any dust.

 

HP Pavilion g6 Laptop Keeps Shutting Down During PC Reset

Hello,

I went through all the steps you gave me and reached the part where I saw the installing Windows screen, and once it had finished it did an automatic reboot like you said, but after a few seconds the entire computer just shut down. It may be due to overheating
or something else, but I've been keeping the computer cool with an outer fan this whole time. Any suggestions?
