Windows 10: my laptop keeps switching tabs even when I dont touch the keyboard or mousepad, what do I do?

It's exactly as stated above, it occasionally opens the windows search bar as well. I've tried to search online how to fix the problem but when I do try to follow the commands in this post https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/laptop-gone-crazy-switching-tabs-and-desktops/41f68698-abb0-46d3-a5dc-e95a6b1bf012 it doesn't end up running the dism command and states this instead: DISM doesn't recognize the command-line option "". I've also tried to uninstall and reinstall the display adapters. What should I do to fix the issue?

Add the Touch Keyboard Icon to the Action Center

Adding the touch keyboard on the items in Action Center is currently not available in Windows 10. However, you can change the settings to automatically show the touch keyboard when you use the device in tablet mode. If you'd like to do this, you can
follow these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Open Settings.
• Select Devices.
• Go to Typing.
• Under Touch keyboard settings, switch on Automatically show the touch keyboard in windowed apps when there’s no keyboard attached to your device.

keyboard and mousepad

Hi,

I have a Lenovo yogi laptop. From the end of June 2019, I found the cursor would suddenly disappear, and the keyboard and mousepad would cease to work, the touch screen did. A restart did not resolve the problem, but shutting the laptop down and starting
up, did. However, within a few minutes the same action would occur. I eventually decided to restore to factory setting, allowing the updates to commence. (NB lost a program to this as the company doesn't exist any more and the program will not register)

The laptop worked fine until the final updates were installed. …..and again the touch screen works but the mouse and keyboard stop working. Any suggestions.

NB I have found the new 'helpful style' windows 10, not. Oh, for the times when you turn off updates and mess with setting!

 

Touch keyboard not working

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

Please confirm the following things for me.

1. May I know the make and model of your system?
   
2. Was there any major change on your system prior to which you were able to use the touch keyboard without any issues?
   

I would suggest you to check with the services again, there are a few dependency services that will need to be checked. Please follow the steps below.

1. Press the ‘Windows’ key and ‘R’ key together, this will open the ‘Run’ dialogue box.
   
2. Type in ‘services.msc’ and press enter. This will open the ‘Services’ panel, in the list of services, find ‘Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service’.
   
3. Right-click and select ‘Properties’. In the ‘General’ tab, change the ‘Startup type’ to ‘Automatic’ and click on ‘Start’.
   
4. Click on the ‘Dependencies’ tab, expand the ‘Remote Procedure Call (RPC)’ and check the related services. You will find two services related to the ‘Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service’. Click on ‘Ok’, return to the ‘Services’
   window.
   
5. Find the two services namely, ‘DCOM Server Process Launcher’ and ‘RPC Endpoint Mapper’. Start the services if they aren’t running and the ‘Startup type’ to automatic and click on ‘Ok’.
   
6. Please check this link to ‘Open the touch keyboard’ and check if it works
   out for you.
