Windows 10: My laptop microphone isn't detected as an audio input device when I plug in headphones.

I have been using a pair of bluetooth headphones for the past couple of weeks with my laptop. I use the audio output of the headphones along with my laptop's built in microphone as it is better quality. Today however, windows stopped recognizing my laptop microphone as an audio input while my headphones are connected. I am able to use the microphone whenever the headphones are not connected. My microphone input is listed as "Microphone Array AMD Audio Device" and remains listed while the headphones are connected, but produces no sound and is not detected by programs like Sound Recorder. Headphones microphone not detected

Hi guys, my microphone worked well till someone changed some settings on my laptop and now idk how to change it back. I can hear in my headphones but the microphone is not detect. Only the laptop microphone works.... I have Steelseries arctis 3

Microphone of bluetoth headphone isn`t working properly

When connected via bluetooth (over ear headphones) it works fine as an output device, but if I do something that uses the microphone the headset gets disconnected after a while (1-2 minutes). If I try to connect the headphones via 3.5 mm jack the microphone doesn't even get detected. I cannot see it as an input device and the apps use the built-in microphone array of my laptop instead of the headphones' microphone.

 

I can't change audio input device because my headset microphone is not getting detected

I currently have a Dell Inspiron 7591 with Realtek audio drivers. Currently, the only detected microphone input device it has is the 'Microphone Array'. I have a HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 headset, and even when plugging it in the laptop- the microphone won't get detected. The audio and headphones works well however.

I've tried using the included audio splitter where I plug in the microphone only, and even that doesn't work. I've tried updating and reinstalling the drivers to no avail. Looking around the internet, I tried downloading an app called "Realtek Audio Control" but even that won't help because it my laptop doesn't let me download it! Even with multiple driver updates, reinstalls, and looking around from other threads; it keeps popping up with the same error (0x803FB005). Now I don't know what to do..

How can I get my headset mic to be detected by my laptop? Help will be appreciated thank you!
