my laptop restarts when I want to shut down it. the power button seems to be a restart button because it work this way. windows 11

Random shut down and restart??

Computer: Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual cpu
E220@2.406hz
2.42 GHZ, 2.00 GB of RAM
Windows xp

Ever since I replaced the fan (with heat sink) the computer has randomly shut down and then restarted, at first during streaming, and now, will shut down and restart anytime. I tried to replace the graphics card to no avail. *Confused *Mad

One suggestion was to replace the RAM.

Any suggestions on how to repair my computer?

 

Laptop will not restart on a power / restart option

Gateway NV59 I5 windows 7 PRO 64bit w/ 4GB memory - upgraded to windows 10 PRO and during the upgrade the PC would not restart after one of the many reboots. I had to use the power button to force the PC to shut down and then power button to turn it back
on. The windows 10 upgrade continued / completed. Now when I use the power / restart option the PC will hang either on the actual shut down or restart - no disk activity - just sits there on a blank screen. I have to use the power button to shut off / on to
get back to the desktop. Any suggestions as to why the PC will not complete a normal power / restart process?

NOTE: on a few of the power / restart I received a BSOD memory_management screen - after a few minutes the system would appear to shut down but never restart - had to use the power button to turn back on.

Shut down, restart and sleep button not appearing after clicking on power button

Hello

While clicking on Windows 10 power button shut down, restart and sleep options are not appearing but if i click somewhere around the region the pc gets shutdown or restart. Please look into the matter and suggest me the needful so that the buttons are visible.
