Windows 10: My laptop shows my second hard drive that I installed by Caddy, only in Device...

Laptop HP 45401- hardware HDD Toshiba 2- hardware SSD Samsung 870 500GBI searched all over the laptop, but unfortunately I couldn't find SSD. Neither in the BIOS nor in the Disk Management.

Problem with the caddy hard I installed.

I bought a used laptop (which is Lenovo t540p ) and installed a second hard drive to the optical drive via a caddy adapter. after installing windows 10 I faced a problem with my second hard. It is that the second hard is showing as a removable device. and I searched online for this problem and did some registry edit commands. But nothing worked. I guess the problem is with my laptop model because my secondary hard shows as a desktop device(with red color Lenovo icon). Then I installed win 7 to see weather it fix the problem and it did but I want to use new windows so I installed win 11 back and the problem remains the same. I've attached the way it shows in the safe to remove hardware menu and the devices and printers menu. Can someone help me to fix this error please ?

 

HDD in a HDD caddy is not showing up in the disk management

To assist you better, I would like to ask some questions:

• How are you connecting the HDD Caddy?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

If you are connecting the device using USB, I suggest you to check if other USB devices are recognized as USB devices or Other device. If it is displaying as other device, then the issue might be with the USB port. So, I suggest you to update the USB drivers
by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X, select Device Manager.
• Expand Universal Serial Bus Controller.
• Right click on the drive, select Update Driver Software and follow the on-screen prompts.

second hard drive not showing

had problem with new laptop being stuck in repair mode, reinstalled windows 10 now 2nd hard drive does not show in device manager or disk mgmt.

no way to reassign drive letter, dive not showing. Restarted computer and went to boot menu or bios menu. Drive is listed there. When windows boots up, it disappears.
