    My laptop sometimes goes to sleep or shut down when I lid closed in windows 10. It's unpredictable sometimes it goes to sleep or sometimes it may shut down, I have changed all the necessary power settings but still, the same problems are occurring.

    Hello,

    I have a problem with windows 10 which is going to sleep mode instead of shuting down.

    I changed power settings to shutdown after closing the lid and to go to sleep mode when I press power button.

    Now, when I press power button system starts to shutdown. Then I close the lid and system goes to sleep mode during shutdown process...

    When I open the lid again the laptop wakes up and continues to shut down.

    Is it normal behaviour? In my opinion system shouldn't go to sleep when is shutting down.

    Laptop does not shutdown when i click shutdown and close the lid, it sleeps instead.

    I understand that when i change my configuration to shutdown when closing the laptop lid, it will definitely shutdown the laptop. However, i want to keep the setting of sleeping when closing the laptop lid. Is there anyway that the shutdown in the Windows
    menu overpower the laptop attempts to sleep when i close the lid? It works fine a few weeks ago before a windows 10 update. However, ever since that update. I started to get this problem.

    Laptop goes to sleep mode during shutdown after closing the lid

    The troubleshooter found nothing.

    Still, I press power button, the shutdown screen appears. Then I close the lid and system goes to sleep.

    After opening the lid, system wakes up and continues to shut down... Hilarious...
