Windows 10: My laptop speakers and plugged in headset are not being recognized within settings.

I can't unmute my laptop speakers and/or headset. A few days ago, with MS support, my computer was put through a complete reset and it hasn't worked since. I don't know how to correct it.Thanks.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

speakers are working when i plug my Headset

after plug my head set to laptop, headset and speakers are working. didn't disconnect speakers when headset plugin. this happened after update my windows 10

 

No longer recognizes headset plugged in/out

My Dell laptop no longer recognizes when I plug in our pull out the headset. The speakers on the laptop are used instead of the headset. This used to work until some update from Microsoft. I cannot isolate which "update" caused the issue. The only way
I can get my headset to now work is to power cycle my computer and leave the headset plugged in. I have tried reloading the driver to no avail.

It appears the Microsoft updates are progressively destroying the usefulness of my computer. The previous issue still has not been resolved with the laptop screen or the external monitor going blank periodically. These both used to work.
