Windows 10: My laptop suddenly said "lock..." and went black...?

I just booted my laptop, opened the writing program and looked for a special character on the keyboard. Suddenly "lock..." appears and the screen turns black. I tried to shut it down, restart it and googled it but somehow couldn't find the right answer.

It would be nice if you could help me, because it's not mine.

Locked System Restore - now stuck on black screen

I was attempting to fix another problem by rolling back to an earlier image by using system restore. After 24 hours I figured the machine was locked up, so I powered it off.

• I have been trying to power it back up using the Function F8 (Lenovo Ideapad 320 laptop). I see the Lenovo splash screen with a circular pattern of white dots. The computer finally goes to a black screen.
• I have attempted to connect the computer via HDMI cable to my TV per some other suggestions.

Any other suggestions?

Step 1: Try to set the lock screen background to picture and check if the issue persists.

Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates on your device and check if it helps.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Step 3: Update the Display Adapter drivers.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right click on the Display Adapter and click on
  Update Driver Software.
• Restart the computer.

Black Lock Screen

Hi Eugen,

As you have already tried to update the driver and changed the settings, I suggest you perform a startup repair by following the steps below and check if it helps.

• In the Lock screen, press/hold the shift key and click on power icon>restart.
• Click on Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Repair and follow the prompts to start the Startup Repair.

After the Startup Repair is complete, check for the status.
