Windows 10: my laptop task manager said i used 1 of 2 ram slot even though im using both slots 4gb x 2...

so my task manager said 1 of 2 ram slots used, when i hover it saidslot 1: emptyslot 2: 4,0GB, 1600mhzbut it show 8gb of ram just finemy bro's laptop have both slot used and it said 2 of 4 slot usedis this the same case just my task manager only managed to detect 2 slot and the other 2 hidden 3rd and 4th slot?i tried to upload an image but it wont uploadshould i worry about it? it happened after i swapped my ram position, before it shows 2 of 2 slot used but its always crashing with screeching sound so i tried to swap their position and run some games and worked just fine with no crashing ye

So in task manager, it says I used 6/7.4 GB of RAM and I want to reduce that. I looked at the bottom and it says slots used: 1 of 2. Does this mean that if I finish using 1 slot, I would be able to use the 2nd one? Am I already using the 2nd one?

Windows 10 Task Manager RAM Slots Indicator

In Windows 10, on the performance tab, under memory in task manager, it says "Slots used: 1 of 2"

I was wondering if this is reliable. Searching my laptop online suggests that it only has one slot. Is it worth buying an extra stick of RAM or should I open it up first to check?
