Windows 10: My laptop wifi adapter stopped working it's saying error code 10

Error code ten on my adapter showed up I can't get it to go away I did everything Microsoft said to do I did everything YouTube said to do I can't update the drivers cuz they don't do them anymore I can't fix it so I have to use a Ethernet adapter which is really annoying to use pls help

Wifi adapter has stopped working, wdiwifi.sys errors.

HP Envy 17t with Microsoft Windows 10 (64-Bit) with an Intel Wireless-AC 9560 160MHz network adapter.

My wireless network adapter stopped working on Tuesday. No Internet at all.

When checking the adapter properties I get the following status message:

Windows update log didn't show any updates this week, and I haven't installed any new software recently.

Troubleshooting steps I have taken:

• I have tried updating the driver
  
• I have tried disabling and enabling device.
  
• I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers
  
• I have tried deleting device and scan for hardware changes.
  
• I tried rolling back, but that option wasn't available.
  
• I tried System restore (I only had one restore point and it was less than 24 hours old)
  

None of these worked.

I also ran FSC as admin in safe mode. It detected errors but couldn't fix them. The CBS log has multiple occurrences of "hashes for file member WdiWiFi.sys do not match."

I also tried installing a USB wifi adapter and got the exact same Code 37 error message.

I'm assuming WdiWifi.sys must be causing this but not sure.

Any suggestions on what to do next?

 

Windows 11 - Wireless AC Adapter 9560 stopped working code#43

Full disclosure: I am a self taught genX noob.. I am only posting this issue to assist others. I am using a Lenovo laptop running Windows 11. So this morning my wifi stopped suddenly. No options in network settings to do with wifi at all. And no network jack to plug directly into my router. I googled the fault and tried other suggestions that didn’t work, such as disabling the adapter in device manager, restarting then enabling it again. I tried a few suggestions from others on here from around 2020 with the same issue for Windows 10 with error code #10. My error was #43.

Eventually I disabled the adapter, updated the driver by searching for it manually, (the automated search informed me I had the correct driver installed already) I chose the second driver in the list (there were 3), and it started working again. My wifi and network options reappeared. Incidentally my warranty ran out about 3 days ago. That old chestnut Boomer trap.

I keep losing my WiFi adapter

I tried the Option 2 approach but kept getting the Error NetSetupDeleteObjecton Network Adapter error (0x80070005) error, even after a dozen executions of the command. That seemed like it was going nowhere so I tried Option 1. After completing the reboot in Option 1, I never got the dialog that asked if I wanted to make the computer discoverable, even after a significant wait. Do you have any further suggestions? I'm going to move on to "Compumind's" suggestion in the meantime and see if that helps.... - - - Updated - - -

I started working my way down the list.

1. Both the ipv4 and ipv6 resets said "access denied!". However, the mere attempt worked *briefly*, then the WiFi went down again.
2. I disabled and re-enabled the network adapter. Again, it worked *briefly*, then I lost the WiFi again.
3. I tried to disable the antivirus but couldn't find a setting for that so uninstalled it entirely. I got the WiFi back and this time it stayed on for several hours instead of a few minutes so I assumed it was fixed. Then I installed the new Avast One and the WiFi is still working so I'm assuming that all is well finally!
