Windows 10: My laptop will not restart

I was 62 percent into a factory reset and the battery died when I plugged it back in a it says preparing and a window pops up that say unexpected error windows installation cannot proceed click to restart and it just does the same thing

Hard drive/ OS issue

• shutdown
• unhooked HDD
• restarted
• yay !!
• reconnected HDD
• restarted
• yay !!
