    My laptop windows 10 can play background music/sound effect, but there's no speech or dialogue.


    The last thing that I did differently was plugging SteelSeries 7 by 3.5mm jack no installation etcthe next time I use it, my laptop can't play any voice, speech, or dialogue whether it's from web, application, or games. It, however, able to play background sound instrument, melody, etc and any other sound effect.Some solution that I've tried:1. Restarting, unsurprisingly, didn't help.2. Defaulting all sounds setting, didn't help.3. Other forums said to edit from the Enhancement menu, my laptop didn't have one though.Any solution?Thanks.

    Weird Sound Effect playing in the Background from time to time

    Weird Sound Effect playing in the Background from time to time, Whenever I play a game or watch Netflix from time to time, I start to hear this weird sound effect sorta of like sci fi sound effect playing in the background (headset) and it hasn't happened
    before. I troubleshoot audio maybe even disable audio enhancements but nothing.

    I appreciate you for performing troubleshooting steps to fix the issue from your end.

    I realize that you are experiencing issue in listening to voices and audible speeches on Windows 10. I will certainly help you.

    This issue might occur, if there is problem with Audio Hardware Socket.

    Please follow below mentioned methods to fix the issue:

    Method 2: Troubleshooting Audio Driver.

    1. Press “Windows key + X” from your keyboard.

    2. Select on “Control Panel” option.

    3. Change to “Larges” under “View all”, you see at right top corner of the window.

    4. Click on “Troubleshooting” and “View all” option, you see at left pane of the windows.

    5. Select and right click on “Playing Audio” option from the list and click on
    “Run as Administrator”. (Enter password, if it prompts).

    If the issue still persists,

    Cortana is not playing music from my lapt

    I did all the steps you told me.

    But nothing works for me. Even while I was doing all those steps my laptop was not showing available wifi networks.

    I did system reboot. Nothing happened...same problem.

    After that while doing troubleshooting text speech recogniton..i came to know that there is no audio devices listed in Sound settings...what the **** was that. Again I rebooted...still no sound now...

    At last I rolled back to previous windows 10 version 1607 with last build.

    Now everything is working fine... Wifi working...Cortana playing music... Sound perfectly working..

    The new windows 10 version 1703 is very buggy.
