Discus and support my laptop's built in speakers are not showing up in the list of input output devices. in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I opened my laptop [windows 11 Dell Inspiron 3501] as usual but noticed that no sound was playing.     I opened my laptop [windows 11 Dell Inspiron 3501] as usual but noticed that no sound was playing. Then I looked at my taskbar & saw that the speaker icon had a cross over it; I expanded it & saw that it showed I had no speaker connected. But I always just use my laptop's speakers & couldn't figure out the problem. I troubleshooted & it did the "playing a tune" test but it repeatedly just showed that I had no device connected. But I just use my laptop's speakers. Pls help.

    No input or output devices work on my laptop.

    I have been having trouble with my laptop for months, But that was only input devices. The only input and output that work with my pc is the ones built in.

    Ive tried basically every suggestion the internet has given me, Such as troubleshooting, Updating drivers, Disabling and enabling etc

    Im starting to suspect that its issues with headphones i have to plug in, And that bluetooth might work. I dont have any bluetooth headphones though.

    The devices are all enabled but when i check my sound outputs my headphones arent an option, only the speakers.

    My computwr was working just fine about 6 months ago,

    No Audio Output Devices Detected on laptop with built in speakers

    The sound output on my Dell XPS 13 9310 is permanently muted as apparently no output devices can be detected. This is despite the device having built in speakers. I have tried rebooting the device to no avail. Could it be a hardware issue? Any help appreciated.

    Adding external speakers

    Depending on the built in sound device on the MB. Some support 2.1/5.1/7.1 and also optical audio out. Just plug in the cable that comes with the speaker to it then switch the sound output for the speaker.
    1. Sound input to speakers
    2. Some high end speakers support digital sound then you would use an optical cable.
    3. Sound input to TV using HDMI cable
