Windows 10: My laptop’s cursor can still move and I can still switch tabs, but no apps will open and...

My Asus TUF A15 has a faulty power on button. Today, my laptop has been stuck on the loading cursor for more than an hour since I tried opening a game. I’ve already tried restarting via the windows restart button but it never did. I also tried all the power off shortcuts I could find, but non of them work. Now I can’t even open anything, even the windows restart button. Because of my faulty power on button, I also can’t force restart it. Please help.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Command line/tab

No plans to implement that. Many users (including me) look at tab 1, then click sensors tab 2 quickly and close the app. Expectation is that it will start at tab 1 again.

 

Is there a key to delete character ahead of the cursor?

Hello Stephen,

As of the moment, deleting the characters next to the cursor is unavailable. You can only delete characters by moving the cursor to the right side. You can always send a suggestion via Feedback Hub app so that it can be added or included on the next update.

To send a feedback on your phone, you can follow the steps below:

1. Go to All Apps, search for the Feedback
   Hub app.
2. Open the menu icon at the top left side.
3. Select Feedback, then at the top right side, tap the
   add button (+).
4. Select Suggestion and fill up the box with the details of the feature you want to be added on Windows phone.
5. Select the right category for the suggestion and then submit.
