I am using HP laptop with windows 10 and I am facing a problem. My system is using a lot of data for no reason and I have paused windows update also but it still using a ton of data. Please help me

Hi,

I downloaded a data manage app that alerts me when I am suddenly using a lot of data and I also put a daily data limit on it. Only problem is if I want to use the Playon Program to use my off-peak data to use record netflix I have go turn off all the limits
and no let the laptop go to sleep. Would just really love to know what it is in the system that is using all the data. It has chewed up over 30gb of data in just over a month and seems silly I can't leave my laptop on for a few hours without a data gremlin
coming out. If you have any other ideas of what it could be I'd love to know.

Metred connection, still consuming a lot of data

Hi All,

My laptop is a new DELL laptop, preinstalled with Windows10. Every time I connect my laptop to my mobile internet connection through the mobile hotspot, the laptop is consuming a lot of internet data. I set the connection as metered, still it is consuming
a lot of data. This needs to be stopped at the earliest.

Below are the actions taken so far as per my own understanding:

• Connection is already set as metered.
• I have stopped the Windows Update service, before I start my data connection. Instead, I am manually checking and installing updates.

Can someone please advise ASAP?

 

How much data the internet generates every minute

Computer software and data visualization company Domo has released its fifth annual infographic revealing how much data is generated on the internet every minute.








According to Domo, 90 per cent of all the data on the internet today was created in the last two years - which is 2.5 quintillion bytes of data per day.


The 'Data Never Sleeps' project shows how much data is generated on the internet every minute, breaking it down by platform.

Some of the highlights of this years' report include:

• Texting: People now send more than 15.2 million texts sent per minute today, compared to more than 3.5 million text messages sent every minute in 2016 - a 334 per cent increase in texting.
• Netflix: Netflix has seen a decline of video streamed per minute - subscribers streamed 69,444 hours of video in total per minute compared to 86,805 last year - a 20 per cent decrease.
• Weather Channel: The Weather Channel receives just over 18 million forecast requests per minute - a 22 per cent increase.
• Snapchat: In terms of social media apps, Snapchat surpasses Twitter and Instagram in usage popularity. This year, Snapchat users shared 527,760 photos per minute - 167 per cent more than Instagram's 46,740 photos shared per minute, and 14.6 per cent more than Twitter's 456,000 tweets per minute.
• GIFS: The number of GIF's generated on GIPHY has increased by 22 per cent compared to last year, rising from 569,200 to 694,400.
